I find the concept of going away parties to be an amusing topic.
It seems that if someone is going away for a period of more than a couple of weeks, suddenly an inner yearning to celebrate surfaces.
This could simply be because people want to stock up on friendly contact before they venture into murky and unchartered waters.
Maybe due to a subconscious fear that they mightn't make it home.
On many occasions though a going away party will be spawned, organised and thrown by that person who just loves to drink, or just party in general.
The worst in my opinion would have to be if someone offered to throw a party for your departure. No doubt insinuating that you leaving, and your prolonged absence is worth celebrating.
I am however very thankful to my best mate Mike and his family for inviting me over for dinner before I leave. Such a solemn event, no doubt means both him and they are indifferent to my global whereabouts, yet care enough to make sure I have sufficient "food for the journey."
Thats me anyway. Tell me what you think by commenting down below.
WARNING: ensure you approach my writings and ramblings knowing full well that I'm openly laying the junk mail in my brain all over the table, and it its backed with no proof of source or credibility
