I'm sitting in the plane writing this up, but you have no chance if seeing it untill some half decent wifi falls from the heavens or I buy a spanish sim card with data...
Well I'm on my second excruciating flight. I don't know how or why time can drag out so damn long on planes. Im not talking time zones either, just lateral, chronological, normal time has become my number one enemy.
First flight from sydney to bankok wasn't so bad as there were plenty of movies to watch and people were kind enough to speak to one another. But all good things have limits, and so does human patience, so as you can imagine after our first joy ride everyone had lost interest in the background and story of other pilgrims, and pretty much anything to do with other humans. and instead had their mind and body set on one thing... SLEEP!
Besides what else is there to do when this second plane hasn't even got tv's despite the fact that the flight is considerably longer.
Sorry I lost my lost train of thought I was talking about the activity that is vital for both life and health known as 'sleep.' Which admittedly when flying economy is quite a challenging mission. But I won't complain because once you have familiarised yourself with contorting your body into shapes previously deemed impossible, getting your elbows pounded to dust by the all to frequent drinks cart, and getting your drooling head poked and repositioned by the unlucky passenger next to you with a freshly spit drenched shoulder... Economy sleep is a breeze.
I look at situations like this as a gift as I've been told multiple times "it's a pilgrimage not a holiday."
So I'm happy with the arrangement of filling my first trip to Europe with pain and suffering. :)
You may be confused by the title of this entry but basically it just means I'm totally lost as to what time zone im in. and because close to 20 hours have past in this bus with wings im not sure if im in day 1 or 2 yet.
A few fun facts that I won't elaborate on:
1. I have tonsilitis right now
2. The plane food it's surprisingly nice
3. Despite the sarcasm I'm very excited
4. Airport wifi didn't work so I'm hoping that will change in Madrid
Don't be fooled by our happy faces in the pic. Look at our eyes and you will see the exhausting truth :p
Stay posted!
